01 / WORKING PRINCIPLE
How Does an Ozone Generator Work?
The ozone generator uses an electrical discharge process to convert oxygen-containing gas into ozone.
Oxygen or oxygen-enriched gas is passed through a controlled discharge gap between electrodes separated by a dielectric material. A high-voltage alternating electrical field creates a corona discharge, which converts a portion of the oxygen into ozone.
The generated ozone is then introduced into the water or wastewater through an appropriate ozone contact system, where it reacts with contaminants and microorganisms through oxidation.
